Welcome to One(s and Zeros) to Grow On: Lessons Beyond the Code

Technology has always fascinated me.

From the very beginning, I’ve been captivated by both its possibilities and the way it has challenged me to think differently. It has pushed me to be both highly logical and deeply creative—to solve problems, build software, and continually learn something new.

Along the way, I discovered something I never expected. The most important lessons I’ve learned aren’t about technology.

They’re about people.

They’re about listening before building and leading through change. Communicating ideas clearly. Making complex things understandable. Learning from failure. Questioning today’s assumptions to build better solutions tomorrow. Building trust.

And remembering that every piece of software is ultimately created by people, for people.

I’m a technologist by trade and at heart. Technology simply makes sense to me. But I’m also able to step outside that technical bubble and look at problems through a human lens. Over the years, I’ve found that bridging those two perspectives—technology and people—has been one of the most valuable skills I’ve developed.

That’s the perspective I hope to bring to this series.

One(s and Zeros) to Grow On isn’t about teaching the latest programming language, framework, or AI tool. There are already countless excellent resources for that.

Instead, this series focuses on the principles I’ve learned and continue to apply, no matter how much technology changes.

If there’s one theme you’ll find throughout this series, it’s this:

Technology changes. Human nature doesn’t.

If we can better understand both, we’ll build better software, become better leaders, communicate more effectively, and solve the problems that actually matter.

  • Building communities that last
  • Simplicity as a competitive advantage
  • Learning from failure
  • Creativity, curiosity, and lifelong learning
  • And much more

Whether you’re an engineer, architect, manager, student, entrepreneur, or simply someone who enjoys thinking about how technology and people intersect, I hope you’ll find something here worth reflecting on.
