Software development stopped being just “writing code” a long time ago.

Today, building modern platforms means balancing architecture, infrastructure, scalability, product design, automation, cloud hosting, developer workflows, security, maintainability, and increasingly… AI-assisted development.

This section of the site is where I document that work.

Over the years, the focus evolved from small standalone open-source projects into rebuilding and operating full modern web platforms — from legacy system modernization and cloud infrastructure to sports simulation technology, experimental tools, and long-term product development.

Some projects are active products. Some are experiments. Some are modernization case studies. Some are simply lessons learned from years of building and maintaining real systems.

The common thread across all of them is practical engineering.

SimLeaguesPro

The Online League Operating System

SimLeaguesPro is the largest project I’ve undertaken in years and represents the culmination of nearly two decades of experience participating in (and even running) online sports simulation leagues.

Originally inspired by my work on the OOTP Fantasy Leagues, SimLeaguesPro has evolved into something much larger: a connected platform designed to help commissioners run leagues, recruit owners, build communities, manage fantasy games, and keep members engaged between sims.

The platform serves as the connective tissue between league operations, team owners, fantasy competition, news, communication, and community building.

While the current focus is supporting Out of the Park Baseball online leagues, the long-term vision extends beyond a single game and toward a broader ecosystem for online simulation communities.

Development is currently progressing toward the SimLeaguesPro 1.0 launch. The Road to 1.0 series documents that journey, the lessons learned along the way, and the philosophy behind the platform.
